Learning to Live With Radical Islam

“We don’t have to accept the stoning of criminals. But it’s time to stop treating all Islamists as potential terrorist”

Learning to Live With Radical Islam,
The above is the Newsweek March 9 cover story by Fareed Zakaria

Finally an article on from a major publication on separating al Qaeda from other Muslims. Unfortunately, Zakaria didn’t mention much on al Qaeda. However the Daily & Sunday Telegraph in England and New Yorker Magazine did, see,

The astounding hypocrisy of conservatives

As a libertarian, I am constantly astounded by the hypocrisy of so-called “conservatives,” especially radio talk show “conservatives” who are now mewling and ululating over the projected Obama deficits in the trillions of dollars.

Not that I support Obama’s insane program of spending ourselves rich; no one in history has ever become wealthy by running up huge, unpayable balances on one’s credit card. In like manner, you can’t spend yourself out of a recession, because spending is the cause of the problem, rather than the solution.

Where were our Leaders?

Came across a commentary I wrote in February 2008 about how Americans were being lied to re: the economy by most our leaders and media. Case in point: Rush Limbaugh, the self-styled "leader" of the conservative movement, the drug-crazed blowhard who rants, raves and screams while saying nothing.

President Barack Obama plans to change how government contracts are awarded and who can earn them, a move his aides say would save taxpayers about $40 billion a year by making the process more competitive.

Obama is to sign a presidential memo Wednesday that changes government contracting procedures, an administration official said on the condition of anonymity in order to discuss the decision before it was announced.

Bush’s lust to become a dictator

The Obama Justice Department has released nine legal memos drafted in the aftermath of 9/11 that bypassed the Constitution to justify near-dictatorial powers for then-President Bush.

A memo for the file written five days before the Bush administration left office formally repudiated the still-secret memos "because of the doubtful nature of these propositions." Doubtful, indeed.
