Obama pads lead in new poll

Democrat Barack Obama’s lead over Republican rival John McCain has grown to 12 points in the U.S. presidential race, with crucial independent and women voters increasingly moving to his side, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Thursday.

With less than two weeks before the November 4 election, Obama leads McCain 52 percent to 40 percent among likely voters in the latest three-day tracking poll, which had a margin of error of 2.9 points.

Obama holds big lead with younger voters

Democrat Barack Obama is the overwhelming favorite of young people to win the coming presidential election, according to a study released Wednesday.

A survey of 18 to 24 year olds conducted by Harvard University found that Obama commands a 26 percent lead over Republican candidate John McCain.

"The remarkable youth voter turnout in the primary process underscored the historic role young people are playing in the political process this year," Harvard’s Institute of Politics director Bill Purcell said in a written statement.

If possible high interest debt needs to be liquidated first by either debt consolidation or using any line of lower interest home equity credit that may be still be available to folks that negotiated such lines of credit. Most institutions have cut off equity lines of credit even if they’ve been pre-negotiated. The bottom line is to pay down your retail credit debt asap.

Only the ELECTORAL vote matters!

This election is unusual in that the polls seem to move radically from day to day and from pollster to pollster. Most polls show Obama with a significant lead over McCain in terms of the popular vote, although some polls show the race as close or even a virtual dead heat.

However, the popular vote is meaningless. In our presidential elections, only the electoral vote counts. And as things stand now, it is hard to envision a way Obama could lose, barring some incredible gaffe, an October surprise, or Republicans stealing votes.
