The Crash: A Libertarian Solution

In our last blog entry, we discussed the fact that our masters in Washington and in the establishment press want range-of-the-moment “solutions” to the current financial crisis–without reference to what actually caused it.

There is method to their madness. Once you understand the causes of booms, bubbles, and crashes, the long-term solution automatically presents itself. Those in power have a strong, vested interest in keeping us misinformed.

Only Now Bush Pays Attention

by Maggie Van Ostrand

It’s sickening that the Bush Administration should only now pay attention to Americans and our economic crisis, when his minions could have done something to prevent it much sooner. Today the market is up –and just in time for the election … what a surprise.

Perhaps it’s too cynical to say that Paulson saw this coming a long time ago, and so did Bernenke, and probably Greenspan. But that’s how I see it.

Was Gayle Quinnell told to ask McCain the Arab question?

Gayle Quinnell is the 75 year old woman who was corrected by John McCain when she said Barack Obama couldn’t be trusted because he’s an Arab. McCain made that pledge as top advisers said he is weighing new economic proposals to help the nation weather the financial crisis. The Arizona senator refused to answer a reporter’s question Sunday about what plans he might be considering.

Tap offshore oil by drilling at a slant

“Directional Drilling according to Wikipedia is already being done three miles off of England, and the technology is being increased at a rapid rate. Instead of Obama arguing with Palin, with McCain sometimes agreeing with Palin about drilling offshore and in wildlife preserves, we can have a united country working for a better resource policy like back when Roosevelt united the nation toward conserving and recycling resources and stopping the last depression.

Did we walk away, or did they beat us down?

In my earlier post calling Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn heroes, not villainous terrorists, I suggested that we walked away from a real chance to change society.

One of the more thoughtful responses disagreed with me:

“We didn’t walk away from it, Mike, we were broken. Kent State scared the crap out of ME. And people had kids, and wound up middle class after all, and some died from drugs, and the War on them, and some went to jail. We were intimidated.”

They do that.
