The thing I’m finding most troubling about Obama.
I’m an African-American who has been alive longer than the 42 years African-Americans have been relatively free in America. That would be 42 years of relative freedom from about 400 years of existence in America.
McCain wants 45 more nuke reactors
Sen. John McCain called Wednesday for the construction of 45 new nuclear reactors by 2030 and pledged $2 billion a year in federal funds "to make clean coal a reality," measures designed to reduce dependence on foreign oil.
Obama: No martyrdom for bin Laden
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Wednesday he would bring Osama bin Laden to justice in a way that wouldn’t allow the terrorist mastermind to become a martyr, but he may be killed if the U.S. government finds him.
Cindy McCain goes to Vietnam
Cindy McCain ranged far afield from the U.S. presidential campaign trail Thursday to showcase her charity work helping Vietnamese kids born with facial deformities.
McCain has made several trips to Vietnam, where her husband, Republican Sen. John McCain, was shot down during the Vietnam War and held for more than five years as a prisoner of war.
Craziness at the gas pump

The real truth behind the 9/11 attacks
Every month I get a few e-mails from people who want to reveal to me the real truth about the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The truth, according to my correspondents, always involves some incredibly elaborate conspiracy theory in which the U.S. government staged the attacks to justify the so-called war on terror and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.
The case for energy abundance
People say we’re addicted to oil but that’s imprecise and unfair. Our automobiles are addicted to oil. And America has been designed around the automobile.
VA blocks voter registration
The recent ban by the Veterans Administration on allowing voter registration in its facilities has a familiar ring to it. All this has happened before.
Gays marry: World doesn’t end!
The news that the California Supreme Court had ruled in favor of gay marriage came on my 32nd wedding anniversary last month. As over-excitable conservatives rushed through the streets shouting, "The gays are coming! The gays are coming!" I kept calm.
I did not react with a superior attitude of "there goes the neighborhood." My personal marital neighborhood does not depend on what other people do, thank you very much.
