Somebody better draft a new set of talking points for Tom DeLay, the chief thug of the Republican mob that controls the U.S. House of Representatives. Up until now, DeLay, whose ethics make a Mafia don look like a saint, has claimed all the questions about his treachery, fraud and abuse are nothing more than a liberal plot by the Democrats. But, slowly but steadily, Republicans are starting to act nervous and say maybe the scandal-scarred Texas political hack needs to go.
Republicans feed on paranoia and Hillary Clinton always tops their list when it comes to paranoid delusions. Now the New York GOP, the ones who couldn’t defeat her when they had the chance, is kicking off a national “STOP HILLARY NOW” campaign to knock her out of the Senate in 2006 and derail what they say is her active White House run. Given past performances by the Empire State Republican Party, few expect the campaign to succeed.
Sore loser John Kerry has a new reason why he lost last year’s Presidential election to George W. Bush. Republicans, he says, used tricks and intimidation to keep people from the polls. So far, Kerry has come up with a multitude of excuses to explain why he failed to beat a flawed President who was ripe for defeat — except for the one that mattered. Kerry has yet to admit he ran one of the worst campaigns in political history and the Democratic Party has yet to acknowledge that they blew an easy election by putting a goofball at the top of their ticket.
House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, the ethically-challenged Republican from Texas, comes under increasing fire from members of his own party. But conservative Republicans who would defend DeLay even if he got caught buggering a nun in church, say the criticism doesn’t count because it comes from Chis Shays, who commits the unpardonable sin of thinking for himself. Thye call Shays a “RINO” which, to them, means “Republican in Name Only.” The right-wing nuts will defend DeLay until the end because, after all, he is one of them and that’s all that counts.
