He already has his hot dog. She can’t wait to get hers. Ah, kids at a fair. One of the joys of autumn. “I can’t drive by a fair or a carnival without stopping and getting out my cameras,” says Capitol Hill Blue photographer Doug Thompson. “Why? Because of the kids. There’s always this wide-eyed wonderment at everything that is going on around them. Watch a kid at a carnival and you forget about everything else that is going on in this world. In these times, that’s not a bad thing to be able to do.” These kids were captured at a street fair in East St. Louis, Illinois.
