On Olbermann

Now now, tut tut, there there, I think the entire flap about Olbermann is a tempest in a teapot. I am pretty sure he does not take himself half as seriously as Publisher, et al do. He is a very amusing antidote to the people on “the other side”. I have actually never seen O’Reilly other than in the Olbermann clips, because I do not watch Fox. I have seen Dobbs a few times, and find him a bit boring, and pompous.

Olbermann, however, I find smart and funny, and he happens to think like I do for the most part, politically. I doubt that he considers himself a serious “news anchor” a la Cronkite. But he does know how to sift the “bull” from the “feathers” and I enjoy watching him, his impersonations, his irreverence, his sometimes spot on criticisms and the tongue in cheek manner in which he presents it all. I enjoy the opinions of his regular guests as well, and they too, appear to have a good sense of humor.

Please, we need a few laughs in these dismal times. For me, he’s the one who provides them. If Fox does it for the rest of you, fine with me.
