About 24 hours ago, Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared on a cruise towards becoming the first woman President of the United States.
That was then. Now FBI director James Comey threw in the long-awaited “October Surprise” that could turn the election into a nail biter on Nov. 8.
Comey’s news comes on the heels of questions about the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, after an announcement that rates for health care insurance would rise 25 percent or more and a Wikileaked set of emails that raise questions about whether or not Bill Clinton profited from his wife’s term as Secretary of State.
“Or more” means some will pay double or even more for what may not be “affordable” care and “or more” can also suggests Bill Clinton make more money by using State Department contacts. Obamacare, and questions about it, were about to take center stage in the closing days of the campaign before Comey wrote a letter to Congress announcing he is reopening the “closed” investigations of Clinton’s private email server while she served as Secretary of State.
Questions, Comey said in his letter, came up when agents seized the computer shared by child molester and former Congressman Anthony Weiner and his estranged wife, who is a senior aide to Clinton.
The FBI wants to know if there is classified information from the State Department and/or Clinton among the batch of sexting files that Weiner exchanged with an underage girl.
Top Justice Department officials question the FBI director’s timing of his message to Congress. So are other Democrats, including Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.
Trump, of course, is cheering the news, now praising the FBI director he lambasted for weeks as part of his claimed “grand conspiracy” against him.
“This is bigger than Watergate,” Trump beamed as his throng cheered in Iowa Friday.
Clinton asked the FBI to give a full and complete explanation “without delay.”
As if this story did not any more twists, a British tabloid newspaper, The Daily Mail, may have spared the inquiry after it reported: “Anthony Weiner carried on a months-long online sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl during which she claims he asked her to dress up in ‘school-girl’ outfits for him on a video messaging application and pressed her to engage in ‘rape fantasies.'”
The FBI seized computer equipment owned by Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin, who left him after learning he was again involved in sexual exploitation. Abedin was a top aide to Clinton at the State Department.
Agents, while searching the drives on the comptuter for sex emails, also found some state department emails that they felt should be added to the investigation file on Clinton’s use of a private server for her email work as Secretary of State.
So the email investigation that Comey closed earlier this year is now open again and new questions about Clinton’s judgment is front and center stage at a campaign that has taken more than its share of twists and turns.
Earlier this week, we joined others who felt the election was, for all practical purposes, over and Clinton would win going away.
No election, however, is over until the last ballot is counted and the next 10 days could change votes and opinions. In a race where millions have already voted, it raises even more questions.
Fasten your seat belts. It is going to be a wild ride.

My god what a moron!
This is just more right-wing crap and very disturbing that it’s coming from Republican FBI Director Comey this late in the game.
I feel bad for Hillary, from her blowjob loving husband Billie, Donald Trumps racist pussy crabbing, Anthony Weiner’s online sexting and the whole of the Republican Party swine, including Comey, she has been assaulted for some 30 years by “male dickheads”.
Donald Trump is a batshit crazy lunatic, a multiple bankrupt loser, a draft dodging coward, a traitorous lover of Vladimir Putin, a narcissistic thief, a liar like no other this country has ever known and a serial sexual predator who should be in jail!
That I can tell you.
Believe me, OK!
Believe who?
“That I can tell you.”
“Believe me, OK!”
Come on Wouk, those are two of Donnies favorite trumpisms.
Here’s another:
“I have a great relationship with the blacks.”
Anyone, that interested in the so called emailgate is going to vote for tRumpf anyway. This is a Tempest in a Tea Party Tea Bag. It won’t change the outcome on Nov. 8th.
