With one high-profile woman in the GOP race for President and another waiting in the wings, America could once again face the possibility of a First Husband in the White House.

The question arose in 2008 when Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama fought for the Democratic nomination.  Polls gave either a solid shot of victory over eventual GOP nominee John McCain.

Now the political tables have turned. Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is the new GOP frontrunner in the latest polls and her husband — psychologist Marcus Bachmann — is in the spotlight as a potential First Spouse.

And there is Todd Palin — the former “first dude” of Alaska when wife Sarah was governor of that state. Palin is still playing coy on her plans but some feel she will enter the race because she’s tired of Bachmann getting all the attention.

Doug Thompson published his first story and photo at age 11 -- a newspaper article about racism and the Klan in Prince Edward County, VA, in 1958.
