America’s State of Disunion

Maybe there soon will be a yellow brick road leading out of Washington — even if the bricks do come from China.

Maybe home prices will rise again and banks will actually start financing purchases of places to live.

Maybe jobs will venture out of the horizon like ghost riders in the sky.

We got a lot of “maybes” out of President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Speech Thursday night. We got a bunch of other maybes too from the Republican response to the President and then from the Tea Party Response to the Republican Response to the President’s remarks.

We haven’t heard this many “maybes” since virgins on a prom night.

Maybe things are getting better. That’s what the official numbers say — if you take them at face value.

But if you look a little harder at the numbers you find a lot a caveats among the maybes. Maybe if the Chinese come through with promised investments, maybe if the Arabs kick in a few bucks here and there, maybe if some unions make the right concessions — even if we’re not sure who they will be right for and whether or not those concessions go for jobs here or overseas.  All these maybes add up to a possible economic recovery.

Congress still has to do something with the national debt, the Pentagon still has to find the money to pay for various ways to kill people and the weather has to do its part by not getting out of hand and messing things up with storms and disasters that destroy crops, drive up prices and screw around with the food supply.

We’ve already seen some of that with $3 a gallon plus prices at the tank and the weather didn’t have a damn thing to do with that.  That price  increase was good, old-fashioned price gouging — nothing more, nothing less.

So instead of a “State of the Union,” we got a “Maybe the future of the union,”
which is the best we can hope for anyway.  Such speeches stopped being real “State of the Union” reports a a long time ago — if indeed they were were more than a glorified round of back slapping that allowed the party in power to take credit for anything that might have accidently gone right while the opposition party blamed the ones in power for everything that went wrong for the previous 12 months.

State of the Union? There isn’t one. Never has been. All we have to glean from these piles of propaganda is another year of accidental survival at the hands of amateurs who don’t have the slightest idea what they did, now they did it or how they managed to pull it off without everyone else knowing they were winging it anyway.

Pilots, at the end of a flight, often look back at their plane, smile and say “well, walked away from another one.”

That’s the state of America’s union. In spite of everything, we managed to walk away from another one.

And no one has the slightest idea how.

  1. The picture of this article is telling beyond what most perceive.
Our state of disunion is by design.
Good selection of a pic Doug.

We(as a nation) do not control our currency.
I’ll say it again. We (as a nation) do not control our currency.
This is how people become impoverished by letting “others” control their nation’s currency.

We as a nation do not control the growing of our food.
We go to the grocery store and buy the food.
Those who control the transportation and thus the pricing of our food control our food and indirectly (or directly depending on how you look at it) control us via food.

We do not have representation in government due to those with money (or those who control our money) being allowed to contribute an amount which we (as individuals) cannot match.
Those who control our currency changed the laws to be as such.

Furthermore, those who control the money decide (or pre-approve) who gets to sit in the office as “elected” (and I use the word loosely) officials.
We do not choose the best candidate, we choose from a pre-decided list of candidates “approved” for our consumption.
This means those who create the money create the “pre-approved” choices (once again loosely) and are in control.
Therefore we have no “real” choice in our elected officials.
We have an illusion of representation, although that illusion is fading fast.

The MSM does not report the truth. They are paid by those who control the money to speak words that are pre-approved for them to speak to the masses.
Therefore, you never learn of real truth, only pre-approved perceived truth, which is not in actuality truth.

Lastly, entertainment diverts attention away from the “behind the scenes” goings on and focuses the masses attention on meaningless nonsense.
This keeps the masses form thinking about the truly important subjects like who controls the money and who decides who is pre-approved for “elected” office and that they do not control their currency, their food, or their elections.

People are happy in their ignorance, and it is ignorance and cowardice that is allowing all of this to happen all over the world.

Once again the state of disunion is by design. By intention.

Oddly enough, the same type of individuals who are in the picture above happen to be of the same group who is controlling the printing of our money, the selection of our elected officials, the MSM and are the owners of the teams who play on the TV stations. They also head the FDA thus controlling our food most eat while watching the games.

They are in the top positions of all power in the US. Think this happened by coincidence?

    • Have I mentioned how much I love you eve? 😛

I didn’t see or understand all this until 2000. Some days I wish I could take the blue pill and fall back asleep.

Morpheus: I imagine that right now you’re feeling a bit like Alice. Tumbling down the rabbit hole?
      Neo: You could say that.
Morpheus: I can see it in your eyes. You have the look of a man who accepts what he sees because he’s expecting to wake up. Ironically, this is not far from the truth. Do you believe in fate, Neo?
      Neo: No.
      Morpheus: Why not?
Neo: ‘Cause I don’t like the idea that I’m not in control of my life.
Morpheus: I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know, you can’t explain. But you feel it. You felt it your entire life. That there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there. Like a splinter in your mind — driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I’m talking about?
      Neo: The Matrix?
Morpheus: Do you want to know what it is?
      (Neo nods his head.)
Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere, it is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window, or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work, or when go to church or when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.
      Neo: What truth?
Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage, born inside a prison that you cannot smell, taste, or touch. A prison for your mind. (long pause, sighs) Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back.
(In his left hand, Morpheus shows a blue pill.)
Morpheus: You take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. (a red pill is shown in his other hand) You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. (Long pause; Neo begins to reach for the red pill) Remember — all I am offering is the truth, nothing more.

      • Spot-on both Eve and Woody…! : )

My problem is that I’ve known about our “matrix” since the mid-70’s upon reading the book “The Rich and the Super Rich” by Ferdinand Lundberg (deceased) an economist and writer. It’s still an excellent worthwhile read. The only difference between now and then is that the fortunes are far greater and there’s more players; ie., billionaires controlling our matrix. The club has just gotten larger and inflation has pumped the net worth numbers.

It explains in detail everything of which Eve writes. It left me hushed, but like most loyal, patriotic Americans you refuse to believe that our government could be so jaded and well-engineered on behalf of the super wealthy. We’re not talking about simply rich people here, but transgenerational wealth that’s been passed on since before the dawn of Republic with its origins in Britain and Europe later to be mightily increased through the exploitation of the Americas to present.

These people own everything within our vision field; I.E., the land, the minerals and resources under the land, the water all the structures upon the land through their banking institutions along with the government itself and the ‘little people’ they allow to operate its gears and levers on a day to day basis although kept on a short leash via the long shadow of their authority. We’re simply serfs in our own land, always have been and seemingly always will be especially as long as we let an entity such as the Federal Reserve control our currency, our laws, our representatives and our very way of life. I was offered the “red pill’ in the mid-70’s via the reading of the aforementioned book, but with hope beyond all hope refused to believe its total content, although since 2000 when the Supremes stepped in to appoint our President, it confirmed that we were simply ciphers and they no longer cared if their engineered illusion that we somehow influenced the game, even the outcome of elections was cast aside.

Now they are simply rubbing our collective noses in their no longer veiled arrogance and power achieved through their great wealth and transgenerational game plan. Seemingly we best know who our betters are…no? / : |

    • What the hell are you getting at Eve? That we don’t have a representative government? Hahahahahahahaha!

Go ahead. Pick up the remote. You know you want to. Let it wash over you like a cool mountain stream. It is bliss…obliviousness. Ahhh…so refreshing and cool.

Olbermann. Maddow. O’reilly. Hannity. They love you.

Palin. Obama. Gingrich. Pelosi. They love you.

This is America! We vote! It’s our duty.

  2. Hey, why don’t you all come Down Under (The Lucky Country), we could do with a bit more IQ down here, most of us trade IQ for alcohol, so the canny immigrant businessman should be able to compete with advantages – and they do.

Once your a resident you pay about 1.5% of taxable income for health care and low income earners pay nothing. People who earn nothing have the same coverage as do all family members and children. Health care in America is totally fucked and insanely expensive for what you get.

Anyway, Australia’s OK , it’s just that many of us skips are not real bright – but who gives a fuck, because at the end of the day: she’ll be right mate.

    Bottoms up…

  3. I found Belize to be rather attractive. Nice infrastructure thanks to the British, democratic government (constitutional monarchy) and low population. Like any place Belize City can have its rough edges but rural areas are fine and actually Belize City is rather small. Actually many Amish and Taiwanese have located to Belize. Been several times and it is amazing change when you cross the border into Guatemala.

  4. Just back from two weeks in Costa Rica. Wife and I are scoping out an escape plan. Did a good job of ferreting out the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Good: The government is too damn poor to afford police or a military establishment. Virtually no income or property taxes. Wild West mentality.

The Bad: The government has a serious socialist bent. National health insurance. (Which has naturally led to two health systems; the government system and a separate private system.) Laws against everything under the sun, with the simple caveat that there are no police to enforce any of them, so the national pass-time is ignoring the law. God help the residents if the government ever finds the money for police.

The Ugly: Total lack of law enforcement leaves middle-class folks living with spiral razor wire surrounding their back yards. No shit. (I call the architectural style “20th Century Penitentiary.”) Government requirements for money come from import duties, ridiculously high on everything, especially on cars and similar hard goods. A 1994 beat-the-shit-out-of Honda Civic goes for $6000.

That said, the dogs and kids run free. People are happy. The town square markets are full, and the music plays.

    Maybe. Maybe.

    • I’ve never been impressed with Mexico, Central or South America in my travels. Too much corruption and most if not all transactions require “the mordida” or the bite so to speak; ie., a bribe of some sort to get things moving along and it’s quite an irritant after a while. It’s quaint but at the same time scary depending what type of ‘fix’ you might find yourselves in.

You might consider looking into Canada. There’s a number of Provinces with lower B.C. having a maritime environment; ie, milder winters, incredible beauty and an English speaking people that still maintain a semblance of law and order that allows one to sleep soundly at night. No doubt it’s more expensive than Costa Rica, but you end up getting what you pay for in most cases. Also Canadians enjoy the nuclear umbrella of the U.S. military without having to layout big bucks as Americans to maintain the behemoth.

Another route would be to look into New Zealand also Commonwealth nation like Canada. Also your currency conversion will land you in fat city with the NZ dollar now at .75 USD. NZ is remote and if the balloon goes up including nuclear war you’ll have a far better chance of surviving south of the equator. The air between northern and southern latitudes only mixes during the typhoon season in the Pacific otherwise it will act as buffer against radiation contamination. I know it sounds grim, but it is a possibility although somewhat remote. The Cook Straight separates the North and South Islands and NZ is about the size of California. The northern part enjoys tropical beaches while the southern part enjoys a climate found in northern temperate zones of the U.S.etc. The air is clean and crisp, the beaches pristine etc. They, like Canada used to have a policy that if one brings at least one million into the country it would allow the granting of citizenship, but they’ve increased the amount due to so many wealthy foreigners taking advantage of the policy causing inflation, but that’s changed too due to the tightening and downdraft in their economy.

Good Luck on your choice Warren. Once committed it’s hard to reverse course, but your family’s safety should be of paramount concern. NZ also has a national medical plan in place for its citizens. I generally covers basic illnesses, but one has to purchase a nominal policy for extraordinary medical care which makes sense to me.

  5. Here’s the really hot story no one is talking about:

Accounting Tweak Could Save Fed From Losses

    Fed losses become Treasury liabilities?

This is more than just taxation without representation. What do we call it when profits are privatized and losses are socialized?

You don’t have to wait for fascism in the USA. Ben’s Federal Reserve has quietly established it on January 6th, 2011 and the media largely hasn’t even bothered to report it.

    • There’s an old saying Woody, “figures don’t lie, but liars can figure”. They can do all the sharp-penciling they want, but the fact remains the world’s fiat money system is both broke and broken, not only here, but in Europe, Japan and elsewhere. Governments worldwide are awash in trillions of dollars of debt that will never be serviced not including an unregulated ‘hot money’ derivatives market that can blow up at any time. Sovereign default is stalking the world not including state and local governments too.

Bernanke and his fellow central bankers can do all the book-cooking they want, but it still won’t change the course of an impending worldwide financial disaster.

  6. If anyone and I mean anyone believes the bullsh*t that issues from politicians’ mouths, State of the Union or otherwise are in for a sad awakening.

The jobs are gone, the money is gone never to return and soon the remnants of our freedom. What’s lost is lost forever and there’s no turning back.

In a recent article Eve supplied a statistic that over 41,000 factories have closed since 2000. The downdraft due to the banking/AIG CDO debacle in 2008 precipitated another 8 million jobs being lost to date. It’s estimated that a whopping 40 million jobs have been lost since the late 80’s to present as a function of globalism run amok and they aren’t coming back. We’re still hemorrhaging jobs to China, SE Asia, India, Malaysia and wherever else businessmen an exploit cheap labor.

Our leadership has degenerated into nothing but running dogs for corporate interests, “We the People” be damned. They owe their allegiance only the haves and the have mores. I truly believe they both loathe and fear us explaining why they want to create a dystopian police state before our eyes in an incrementalist fashion. They need protection from us.

Big news story, no more color-coded terror warnings. So what, Homeland Security is still on a tear relentlessly troweling in the bricks of our future electronically surveilled prison.

My unsolicited advice to those with the wherewithal to do so is to escape to the Nordic countries, Canada or anywhere out of this collapsing paradigm. Smart Jews bailed out of Germany in the mid to late thirties fleeing to America now degenerated into AmeriKa. So if you have several million in assets, then flee for your very lives and start living well again. The Nordic countries were just rated as the top four places to live on earth in terms of happy citizens. Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and no they don’t want deadbeats seeking visas either, but that keeps their standards high preventing future problems. What’s ironic is that with the U.S. failing and moving towards fascist style dictatorship there will be no one to save us as we did during WWII, the U.S. assisting in crushing the Nazi tide. Once we fail, liberty as we once knew it might be dead for a thousand years or more until the people can dig themselves from under the hegemony of tyranny run amok.

These monsters we call leaders and reps are scheming our demise as a nation. They are all traitors to the Republic and the Constitution for which it stands as far as I’m concerned. Our Congress, now filled with duopolists have degenerated into nothing but a hand-clapping politburo filled with simps who do the bidding of party hacks who in turn get their instructions from their corporate patrons.

They’ve sown the wind and we are all soon to reap the mighty whirlwind of their duplicity in high places.

“But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.” …John Adams

      • For folks that may have missed Woody’s reference to the President’s TSA joke along with an expansive listing of all the surveillance gimmicks that are in the works to control and surveil the population, then I recommend folks fetch yesterdays link and scroll midway down to pick up the supplied links to the various technologies to used for population control.

Worse yet they are using our money; ie, taxypayer money to forge the electronic shackles with which to contain and intimidate us all in the name of the ‘war on terror’. We’re now meeting the true terrorists and it’s seemingly the rogue bureaurats in Homeland Security that wish to establish a reign of terror across this nation. Hell, I thought the terrorists were holed up in caves over in Afghanistan scheming our ultimate demise as a nation. We’ve seemingly met the enemy and he is them; our now rogue leadership and an army of entrenched bureaucrats with ugly plans for us…no? / : |
