Communicating the old school way


For the past week, Tanner LeCont at Shoreline High School in Seattle has called him mom to let her know what he’s doing. He hasn’t texted her for several days.

Eimanne El Zein gave up Facebook so she could spend more time with her dogs.

Licholi Wytovicz does chores and homework and hasn’t sent out a single Tweet.

What the heck’s going on?

It’s an experiment with teenagers at the Seattle-area school, accoding to Nicole Tsong of The Seattle Times.

And most find like doing things old school.

“People sound different when they’re on the phone,” Shorewood senior Cole Sweeten told Tsong. He now says he prefers a real “Hay, how are you?” from someone’s voice to a “Hello” text and smiley face.
