With the White House stepping up pressure and even bringing in former President Bill Clinton as the closer, even foes of the Obama tax cut deal see it passing and passing soon.
Obama chief advisor David Axelrod acknowledged the tough battle will be in the House, which has rejected the legislation already but the aide predicted the administration will broker enough changes to pull off the deal.
“We believe that when it comes back to the House, that we will get a vote, and that we’ll prevail there, because at the end of the day, no one wants to see taxes go up on 150 million Americans” on New Year’s Day, Axelrod said on CBS’s Face the Nation. “No one wants to see 2 million people lose their unemployment insurance, and everybody understands what it would mean for the economy if we don’t get this done.”

Hi Almandine,
I think you posted this comment to the wrong article, then again, respecting your intellect and dry humor, maybe the reference to Miley and the bong is as good as any comment to this article concerning “Axelrod” and his inane, blustering comments.

Damn it sounds like anticipated relief supplied by a good bowel movement post many weeks worth of constipation of ideas…no?
Concerning Axelrod: His hubris is so great as to the control of his budding acolyte Obama, all I can say concerning a caption…”I’m in control here” …? ala General Alexander Haig : ))
