Newt Gingrich: Hell no, I won't go

If former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich runs for President in 2012 — and many GOP insiders feel he will — one thing is for sure: He won’t appear for any debates moderated by MSNBC‘s Keith Olbermann or Chris Matthews.

Gingrich considers both as shills for Democrats.

MSNBC has come under fire not only from conservatives but also from journalism professionals for using highly-partisan anchors like Matthews and Olbermann to moderate debates or anchor election night coverage.

Appearing on C-Span‘s Washington Journal on Sunday, Matthews said:

There’s no possibility that I would ever go to a debate and have Olbermann or Chris Matthews asking questions. I watched the debate a couple of years ago and it was an embarrassment because they were so relentlessly hostile and they were so left-wing that every question they asked of the Republicans was designed to embarrass and divide the Republicans. And every question they asked the Democrats was designed to make them look good. Well why would we participate in that?

  1. I remember the old Newt who could take on anyone of any party and sell them on his agenda. Poor Newt no longer has an acceptable agenda against anyone. He has become an Evangelical and all he can discuss is praying for America. Okay some Americans believe that is all that it takes, but those of us who have worked the campaigns for nearly 50 years know what wins and what does not! Newt became an Evangelical when his own moral actions became from the gutter. He broke all the rules of fidelity, honesty and integrity. He went through women like a Chinese John.

He may have forgiven himself but not by many Republican Women who read his words of repentance and we are fed up with the use of God to clean up the crap these men laid on women.

This is a dirty little trick being used again and again by men who never learned right from wrong. Cheating on a wife is never okay! This is exactly why many of us will never again vote for a Republican. Their spines have been sucked dry and all they have left are tears and pleas to forgive them.

    Sandy
