Reid, McDonnell keep Senate leadership posts

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Senate Democrats and Republicans alike are poised to return their respective party leaders to their posts following an election in which the top Democrat scrambled to retain his seat and the senior Republican picked up 13 new senators.

Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, is unopposed to keep his post, as is Kentucky Republican Mitch McConnell, the minority leader.

Reid’s midterm election victory over tea party favorite Sharron Angle spared Democrats a battle over who might have replaced him.

And McConnell is sidestepping a divisive fight with conservatives over earmarks by endorsing a tea party-sponsored ban on them.

  1. Toss a few numbers on the ceiling over his head and we have an appropriate roulette wheel backdrop for the good ole pork barrel boy Carl..

Better yet, knock out a few spokes and there you have the broken battered wheel of justice and governance.

  2. Doesn’t Harry look ‘beatific’ in the photo? Too bad he was reelected. Granted his opponent was a fruit loop, but she wouldn’t be assuming his post as Senate majority leader, but simply that of newbie.

The Senate needed a shakeup concerning party leadership. Reid also has a love affair with earmarks; ie, “pork” and will no doubt oppose any changes to the system. It’s the pork that allows him any hope of getting reelected; ie., bribes for Mayberry, NV. So now the American people must suffer six more years of this evil clown’s presence. / : |
