Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul of Kentucky says the federal tax code is a “disaster,” and he wants to replace the income tax with a retail sales tax.

Paul said Tuesday that he would support changing the federal tax code to get rid of the Internal Revenue Service and the federal income tax.

The sales tax proposal is being championed by the Texas-based advocacy group Americans for Fair Taxation and a newly formed affiliate, FairTax America Support Team. Paul’s former campaign manager, David Adams, is a member of the affiliate’s governing board.

Paul faces Democrat Jack Conway in one of the most closely watched races in the nation. They’re seeking to replace 78-year-old Sen. Jim Bunning who opted not to seek a third term.

  1. Rand Paul is just another blustering crimpol wannabe promising a “chicken in every pot and a Ford in every garage” as those in the past. They promise much but deliver little to nothing as our current ‘dear leader’ in chief.

The income tax will never be scrapped as long as we exist as a nation simply because the modern IRS is not simply about the administration of taxing policy, but is part of the modern surveillance state.

It gives authorities draconian control of the populace under the canard of taxation, allowing them to snoop into the everyday affairs of citizens. Once this new cockamamie scheme of 1099’s having to be created for every transaction in excess of $600 between business parties as well as private citizens; the jaws of their surveillance trap will have slammed shut. It’s activation year is in 2012. Hopefully an asteroid incoming or Yellowstone event will put this nation out of its misery under these lying, thugs we now have at the helm.

My unsolicited advice to the citizenry at large is to start a campaign of becoming rabid scofflaws concerning the administration of Obamacare as it unfolds and to simply put this now rogue Federal government on ignore. If millions do so, they’ll have no choice but to scrap every non medical nuance to this 2700 page piece of legislative garbage.

We’re so broke as nation we’d need not only VAT, the existing income tax, but how about a hefty tax on the taxes we pay; ie., a “surcharge” as Johnson levied on the American people for the MIC friendly Nam debacle along with being the first president to pilfer the SS Trust fund, pitching Treasury IOU’s into a so-called ‘lock box’ that are now are coming due. This year alone the SS administration had to cash in one of these IOU’s for 28 billion at a time we can ill afford any amount of “borrowed money” to be expended.

We’re witnessing the unraveling of our nation before our eyes while desperate crimpols ever scheme to come up with more ideas on how to keep the USS America from going to the bottom. These political ‘shipworms’ have virtually eaten the hull out from under us. Soon it will be time to gather for our last round of “America the (once) Beautiful” in the grand salon as we slip under the waves to national oblivion.

    • You’ve become the Ebenezer Scrooge of CHB. Nobody and nothing is safe from your wrath… for which, at least in some cases – maybe this one – is without cause. I’m beginning to worry about you.

      • I now judge all modern politicians, regardless of party affiliation by the measure of our current ‘dear leader’, Barack Obama. Ultimately they all both take and execute their marching orders from the shadowy, behind the scenes, corporate powerbrokers, the citizenry be damned. Rand Paul will be no different. I guarantee! : |

  2. sales tax is great. A VAT tax is NOT. I worked as an accountant, in Canada, using a VAT and it’s a nightmare. A one way sales tax is the best. No more yearly tax returns and businesses prepare income forms to see where they are at financially and not for the IRS.
