A couple enjoys lunch in an outdoor cafe in the Clarendon section of Arlington County, Virginia, on Monday. After a record number of 95+ degree days in August, residents of the National Capital Area enjoyed moderate temperatures and low humidity as showers brought cooler weather to the East Coast. The moderate weather trend is expected to last through the upcoming Labor Day Weekend. Is this an end to the dog days of summer? “I wouldn’t go that far,” says Washington weather forecaster Doug Hill. “Let’s just say we have a break right now and enjoy it.”
