The setting sun turns the sky over the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia into a firey orange. After a record number of days with temperatures over 95, the Old Dominion and the rest of the East Coast was looking forward to a break from the stifling heat and humidity over the next few days. But the break in heat hasn’t brought needed rain as the region suffers under extremely dry conditions.
