Senator John McCain On the Start of The Iraq War

Senator McCain:
We can look back at the past and argue about whether we should have gone to war or not whether we should have invaded or not and thats a good academic argument

Who else believes an academic enviorment is the proper place to investigate Mr. Bush’s reason for his Iraq war? The proper place to investigate why Mr. Bush went to war against Iraq is America’s House of Representatives.

It is the sole responsibility of the House of Representatives to bring impeachment charges against an American president. However, high ranking politicians “don’t have to do nothing if they don’t want to”.

Senator McCain is likely next to the last person who would attempt to answer serious questions about why Mr. Bush started his Iraq war. Mr Bush would likely be the last person.

The Bush administration got the idea that Iraq was trying to build nuclear weapons(WMDs). The Bush team set out to get evidence of a Niger-Iraq WMD connection.

The CIA was unable to find a Niger-Iraq WMD connection. The CIA had trouble understanding how someone could sneak 500 tons of uranium oxide out of Niger’s French managed facility. The CIA failed to find the evidence needed by the Bush administration. Something bad happened to the CIA.

The civilian head of the CIA was removed!

A military man replaced the civilian. Mr. Bush sits at the top of the military chain-of-command.

Another search option was available to the Bush team. Ex-Niger ambassador, Joseph Wilson was dispatched to Niger to find the required evidence. Joseph Wilson did not find evidence of a Niger – Iraq WMD connection. Something bad happened to Joseph Wilson’s wife.

Joseph Wilson’s wife, Valerie Plame, was exposed as a CIA operative.

No, the search for who exposed Valerie Plame’s CIA status did not center on foreign agents. Perhaps Valerie Plame was watching her front. She likely never thought to be wary of a back attack by her own country. But the focus of who outed Valerie Plame was centered in her own country. The trail finally led to the abode of high ranking political targets – right here in the good old U.S. of A. But unlike street villians, high ranking politicians or persons acting in the service of high ranking politicians may be able to escape accountability for certain actions. It is quite possible that who outed Valerie Plame is “UNKNOWABLE”.

In spite of the search failures of the U.S, the Bush team did not give up. A Foreign intelligence source came up with a product that filled the bill for the Bush team. That product could not have been a better match if it had been “made to order”.

The United Nation’s IAEA wanted to have a look at the foreign intelligence document. It finally did. After a very short period of time(hours)the IAEA announced its findings: the document was a forgery. And not just a forgery, but a crude forgery. The IAEA said almost anyone surfing the Internet could have discovered the forgery. The IAEA said the “document” had the right officials serving at the wrong time.

But it was too late to stop Mr. Bush’s Iraq war. That “document” had served the purpose of getting the Iraq war started and could now go the way of all disposeable tools. That document, highlighted during Mr. Bush’s 2003 State of the Union address, has not been personally explained by Mr. Bush – five years later. Five years later and Mr. Bush has not personally explained, to the American people, why the IAEA called his reason for going to war – a forgery. Who works for whom?

If Senator McCain wants to shed light on some unknowns of the start of the Iraqi war, there are plenty of unknowns to choose from.
