A federal court judge has again told wannabe fascist dictator Donald J.Trump that his repeated efforts to revoke the “birth citizenship” of childen born to non-citizens are unconstitutional and unenforcable.
“No presidential executive order can undo what the Supreme Court has done,” Judge Deborah L. Boardman wrote in her order barring Trump’s latest effort to overrule a decision from the highest court in the nation.

The ruling delivered a sharp rejection of the president’s renewed efforts to restrict birthright citizenship, after the Supreme Court ruled 6 to 3 in July that a previous, more sweeping executive order from 2025 was unconstitutional.
Judge Boardman’s order took a dim view of the Trump administration’s reasoning, which she characterized as a thinly veiled attempt to get around the Supreme Court’s decision. She wrote that the president and others named in the lawsuit “completely misread” the majority’s opinion and embraced a “distorted interpretation” of its conclusions.
“Since his second term in office began on January 20, 2025, the president has tried, through executive order, to upend our country’s longstanding tradition of birthright citizenship and eliminate, for large swaths of Americans, the right to citizenship by birth, a right enshrined in the Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment,” she wrote.
Trump is expected to try another vain attept to circumvent another setback from the court. He has a long list of failed attempts to overrule the constitution and federal law and tries, constantly, to use executive orders and powers he does not possess to operate as a dictator, not a president.
At The London School of Economics and Political Science, Ben Worthy writes that “Trump is becoming a dictator, one who combines the transactional pursuit of profit and power with racism, white supremacy, and personalised rule.says.”
Trump’s attack on democracy stretches across every area of American life and has global influence, from free speech to benefit payments, and from Tallahassee to Tehran. The website Trump Action Tracker run by UCL Professor Christine Pagel has tracked all of Trump’s actions during his second term that “echo authoritarian regimes and may pose a threat to American democracy”. It currently lists 3,559 separate anti-democratic actions since 2025. Not a week or day goes by when we don’t see new stories and initiatives designed to dissolve rights or even suspend habeas corpus.
Like classic authoritarian leaders, Trump has long opposed the fundamental features of democracy. The political scientist Adam Przeworski famously argued that a democracy is “a system in which parties lose elections” and the losers leave power (in non democracies they don’t leave, and stay put). Trump is clearly against this fundamental feature of democracies; he tried all he could to not leave office in 2020, and has disputed every election since. He supposedly only ran in 2024 to stay out of jail. His big lie over 2020 is an attack on the very glue holding together American democracy-electoral validity- and is now an excuse for all sorts of undemocratic actions ahead of the mid-terms.
Not only does he oppose democracy, Trump has succeeded in rolling it back and weakening it, perhaps fatally. Trump and his supporters in the Supreme Court have launched an all-out assault on the principle of equality, another bonding material for democratic countries. They have even undone the most important law in the history of American democracy, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 ,the legislation that finally made the US an equal democracy under Lyndon Johnson. These graphs which show Black voter registration rates, representation and economic power tell us how important the VRA was. Its conscious destruction in 2026 by the Supreme Court tell us, as one commentator put it, that the problem in Trumps’ America is not one of “polarisation” but “authoritarianism, extremism, oligarchy, and racism”.
Trump is a aging president racked with escalating dementia, hate, racism and bigotry. He is a convicted felon, a civil court certified sexual predator and a proven serial liar.
He is aided by a shrinking base of Republicans often referred to as “MAGA Maggots.” They claim “MAGA” stands for “Making America Great Again.” We feel it should stand for “Malicious Assholes Grifting America.” Voters have a chance to make needed changes in the upcoming mid-term elections, but only if they put America first and vote to dump Trump and the Republican Party he has destroyed.
