An increasing number of Republicans are rising from their cowardice and standing up, finally, to the dictatorial actions of convicted felon Donald Trump.
In a closed door meeting this week, GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy got into a shouting match with the wannabe fascist dictator Trump for calling Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Murkowski “a horrible person.” He called Cassidy “a lunatic” and other GOP Senators who voted to stop his unconstitutional war against Iran “traitors.”
This brought a strong response from Lawrence O’Connell on his nightly “Last Word” broadcast on MS Now.
Trump, in response to passage of a rare bi-partisan affordable housing bill by Congress, cancelled a scheduled signing it into law and is holding it hostage with a demand for GOP support for his illegal voting rights act based on his false claims that his 2020 election law was “a fraud.” That claim led to his call for his cult-like hoard of followers to attack the Capitol in a violet riot that led to multiple injuries and deaths of police officers and attempts to “hang” then vice president Mike Pence for refusing to stop certification of the win of Democrat Joe Biden as president.
After returning to the White House in 2024, Trump padoned all of those criminals convicted from the attack, including those of who committing the most violent assaults and members of millitila groups who have since been arrested for felonies that have also been sexual assaults against childrent.
Republican members of Congress have sat silent about the pardons and Trump’s increasingly criminal and unconstitutional actions for years but splits within the party have brought out GOP partisans who are saying they have “had it” with Trump. Increasingly, party members and activists have publicly announced they are have left the party because of Trump,
