Trump is an enemy of our nation

It is past time to recognize that enemy of America and our democracy, a traitor to the state. It is past time for his Republican conspirators in Congress to use the 25th Amendment to our Constitution and impeachment proceedings to remove him from office as quickly as possible.

In more than 60 years as a journalist, I have never called a sitting or past president a traitor but these are dangerous times with a convicted felon, sexual predator, serial liar and documented fraud in the White House. Former special counsel Jack Smith bluntly pointed out that Trump was guilty of sedition when he used is presidency to stage a coup in a failed attempt to gain power on Jan. 6, 2021.

As reported on the Lawfare Media website:

“The government now charges, Trump “perpetrated three conspiracies”: one to defeat the lawful federal government function by which the results of the presidential election are collected, counted, and certified; another “to corruptly obstruct and impede the January 6 congressional proceeding at which the collected results of the presidential election are counted and certified”; and yet another “against the right to vote and to have one’s vote counted.”

That indictment is now on hold and in doubt because the Supreme Court ruled Trump cannot be prosecuted while in office and Smith is out of his job because the disgraced president has turned the Department of Justice into his own law firm to use against anyone who disagrees with him.

Latest polls, however, show Trump’s job approval rating sinking rapidly into his toxic swamp of criminal activity and corruption. Democrats are expected to capture control of the House and, possibly, the Senate. Republicans are scrambling to gerrymander as many seats as they can to try and offset the polls.

However, news reports this week shows Smith’s evidence could be be resurrected after Trump leaves office:

When it appeared most of President Trump’s legal troubles were fading into the background, new reporting suggests one of the most politically charged investigations of his presidency may not be fully closed after all.

Documents obtained by Just the News appear to show the FBI issued a “preservation order” allowing evidence gathered during Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into President Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election to be retained until 2030 — even after the criminal case was dismissed. The order, which cites ongoing litigation, has fueled new allegations from Republicans that federal investigators are keeping the option open to revive the case after President Trump leaves office.

“I mean they’re just setting this whole thing up to start it all over again if they regain power,” said Sen. Ron Johnson during a Capitol Hill press conference. “Leadership matters.”

The disclosures come as Republicans continue scrutinizing “Operation Arctic Frost,” the FBI’s investigation into alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The probe has drawn sharp criticism from GOP lawmakers since revelations that investigators obtained personal phone data from Republican members of Congress — including call records showing who lawmakers communicated with and when, though not the content of those conversations.

During a GOP press conference on Wednesday morning, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tennessee) called the investigation deeply concerning.

“The consequence of this is serious,” Ogles said. “Because if they can willfully violate the Constitution, the Fourth Amendment, to come after a member of Congress, then they can come after anyone.”

Congressional Republicans have since held a series of hearings examining what they describe as politically motivated investigative tactics by the Justice Department and FBI.

“It was an attempt to spy on members of Congress including myself who had our phones,” said Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) during a Senate hearing on the issue of Arctic Frost in April. “It’s an absolute outrage that I hope will never happen again.”

During the April hearing, Democrats argued the investigation was warranted in the aftermath of the January 6 Capitol attack.

“Some of my colleagues still refuse to accept that Arctic Frost was a legitimate investigation following the illegal insurrection that occurred when the mob attacked the Capitol on January 6th,” said Sen. Peter Welch (D-Vermont).

What concerns Republicans too is that an increasing number of their colleagues are voting against Trump and his MAGA Maggots. However, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is not one of them. He is a solid Trump co-conspirator and should also be considered an Enemy Of The State.
