John Boehner: Just another slimeball crook

John Boehner: New boss, same as the old

The young turks elected in the the great “game changing” election of 2010 have spent a couple of weeks in Washington now and most of them have learned the hard way that things won’t go quite the way they expected.

They arrived full of vim and vigor, ready to turn the Capitol upside down and put “the people” back in charge.

Then reality set in.

First, they learned that they would be expected to re-‘elect the same old leaders who usually run things in old “Dee Cee.” They learned that one of the first votes they will have to make next year will be to raise the national debt — something most of them swore they would never do.

The election, you see, is over. The rhetoric faded away like an old fart. The posturing ended and now it is back to business as usual.

John Boehner will be the new Speaker of the House. Boehner is a corrupt, votes for sale, old-school politician. He doesn’t give a damn about the people who elected him to office. All he cares about are the fat-cat lobbyists who deliver the big Political Action Committee Checks.

When Boehner came to Congress I was Vice President for Political Programs for The National Association of Realtors and — at the time — oversaw the largest political action committee in town.  We handed out millions in contributions and spent millions more in “independent expenditure” campaigns.

From the day he arrived, Boehner made it clear that out lobbyists wouldn’t get past his receptionists until we wrote out checks for the maximum amounts allowed and that if we wanted consideration for our legisaltive initiatives, those checks had better keep coming.

He demanded invitations to Realtor conventions at locations where he could play golf.  Boehner cares more for golf than he does for the needs of his constituents.  In 2009, his campaign fund spent $82,998 for golf outings for himself and his cronies.

This is the man who will be the new Speaker of the House.

He’s a slimeball and a typical, corrupt, money-grubbing politician.

In other words, he’s a crook.

  1. Americans deserve what Americans allow themselves to tolerate. Through their own inaction and apathetic (tv induced) way of life we see the results of their intellectual laziness and arrogant pride.

When they love sports more than their own children and Budweiser more than their liberty we have 2010 boobus americanus.
They can quote (from memory) their favorite sports figure’s stats but cannot name their state representative.
    “Houston, we have a problem.

The TV and MSM have induced a state of hypnosis and apathy much like that in the movie “They Live.”

The aliens are walking among us but we refuse to see. They are everywhere, controlling everything.
Do you have your “new and improved” decoding contact lenses?

    • Thanks Eve for the analogy to the movie “They Live”. I often think about the plot of that film in that the aliens were interstellar business types too. Seemingly there’s no eyeglasses available to help our fellow countrymen ‘see the truth’. / : |

“Boobus americanus”, truly a superb classifcation for modern men and women especially those in the U.S.

    • LOL, where’s Rowdy Roddy Piper when ya need him?

Don’t need special glasses to spot these crooks. Just need to keep your head straight, pay attention, and remember past yesterday.

  2. Carl, That is a very descriptive post. I remember the week after 9/11 when I went to work for the American Red Cross trying to list all the stuff that Americans would need to survive. I had been a member for over 20 years but after moving up by the Hearst Castle, I realized that most seniors and children mighty have to face many problems with or without their parents. I attended my school years in Santa Monica and we all understood the problems of surviving earthquakes and even enemy bombs. Survival training can take the fear away from even the youngest members of the family.

Sadly even the most extreme survival training can never work on just plain corrupt elected men and women. We must never have to rely on our government for any assistance. The thought of Boehner and/or Palin near the White House, scares the itshay out of me.

    Nice reply to Doug’s piece.

  3. Thanks Doug for nailing this lowlife for what he is; a crook and worse no doubt. We all knew this even before his reelection, but what’s amazing is his constituents back in Mayberry don’t seem to care either. Evidently them tasty ‘pulled pork’ sandwiches courtesy of the U.S. Treasury ‘deli’ are more desirable than setting their nation on a different course away from the rocks of destruction.

There is to be no redemption for this nation. My only unsolicited recommendation is that every man, woman, child, dog and cat best gird themselves for the horrible cleansing to come.

No problem for Boehner and the rest of his crooked brethren in the House and the Senate, they all have reserved seats in the bunker with a 10 year supply of food, first run movies and unmentionables that best not be disclosed while the people that paid the freight are locked out to fend for themselves through the wreckage that was once their nation.

  4. I certainly points to the Republican Party for being the most corrupt use of Lobbyists in D.C. It is sad that Lobbies started out for the purpose of protecting the voters who had no opinions for themselves. I still work for several not-for-profits who promote equality for the individual.

In high school, I wrote a term paper on the subject of the value of Lobbyists. Ah, yes, the innocents of youth.

    • Slimeball is an insult to all members of mycelium, a noble class of naturally occurring slime that make decay of dead things occur, and regeneration possible.

Boehner wins on the decay end. Regeneration? Not so much.
