Can’t we choose the best person for the job, without turning the other choices into demons?

This country is dangerously close to bankruptcy, and an assertive McCain foreign policy is not what this country needs, but as far as McCain being as bad as Bush goes. When Bush was in college, he accused a college professor of being a Communist for assigning the Grapes of Wrath as a book assignment. Then as President refused Saddam’s offer to leave the country if he could take his money with him and have Bush’s guarantee against the US getting involved in a war crimes trial.

McCain’s proposed bluffing match with Iran, Cuba and Venezuela could lead to the dollar collapse. But it could lead to the US’s opponents backing down like they did for Ronald Reagan. I don’t like brinkmanship with an empty treasurer, but I hope for the best even if he gets to be President.

As a Republican war hero he supervised everyone by opposing corruption, and at first being for gun control, animal rights and against torture, but has been backtracking ever since. He also surprised everyone by supporting Clinton in Bosnia, thus will tend if elected to have a fairer but perhaps far more expensive foreign policy.

One thing that amazes me is how much the other candidates backed down over the years. Obama once organized an anti-apartheid demo and did anti gang work and at first voted for the two state solution to the middle east crisis. Hillary during her radical collage law school days monitored Black Panther trials, then went on to do legal work for kids rather than try to earn a lot of money. Of course she then married Bill who was a first a McGovern organizer. Isn’t there some way to get Hillary to return to her radical legal work?

I wish there was some way to encourage politicians to do their best rather than sinking to their lowest common denominator. And for everyone to look for the good in each other. No one is perfect but we should try to make each other better not worse.

I even tried to appeal to Bush’s better side but as with Cindy Sheehan, couldn’t get near him.

Thanks Mr. President, for things it’s awkward to talk about

But in the meantime a future depression will bring out the nastiness in us all, and other than Ron Paul, Obama’s policies are the least likely to lead up to a collapsed dollar.

I too can get shrill:

you are living in never

you are living in never never land. It will get much worse. This is a life and death situation. John McCain cannot be allowed to take control of our government and continue the fail policies of GW Bush.

The Genuises of Propaganda will pull out all the guns just like the did to get George elected and reelected.

John McCAin is either out of touch with reality (INSANE) or just plain incompetent and we've already had 8 years of incompetency in the oval office.

If you don't like it, I suggest you turn off your TV and computer because it's politics as usual no matter what the rhetoric!

PS -- You call this a sane man? McCain Iraq Comments: Bringing Troops Home From Iraq "Not Too Important" (VIDEO)

GOP Operative Releases Obama Muslim Ad

John McCAin is more likely insane than Obama a PUBLICLY CONFESSED Christian is a Muslum.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Al Gore showed us that you can't win a political campaign playing fair. It's like fighting with one hand tied behind your back.

Thing is...I can DOCUMENT McCain's gaffes. There is no evidence of Obama EVER BEING a muslum.

Here you go Richard...here's

Here you go Richard...here's reality in his own words. Maybe you should just spend time passing links around to those friends of yours who like McCain.

McCain 2005: I "Totally" Support Bush On The "Transcendent Issues"

RUSSERT: The fact is you are different than George Bush.
SEN. McCAIN: No. No. I-the fact is that I'm different but the fact is that I have agreed with President Bush far more than I have disagreed. And on the transcendent issues, the most important issues of our day, I've been totally in agreement and support of President Bush.

Personally, I don't see what's so hard to decide. 4 More Years of Bush/McCain or something else. Hell, ANYTHING else is better than Bush/McCain 08!

Also, every time I turn around I hear talking MSM heads saying how McCain has a problem distinguishing himself from George W. That's because we all are talking about just how much "McCain actually supports GW's policies....IN HIS OWN WORDS!"

So don't despair just yet. The Genuises of Propaganda don't know how to run against Senator Obama so they are left with nothing more than lies and inuendos. Hell, we have 35 years of McCain's record to work with.

Shine the light on this so-called Maverick and he looks like swiss cheese his policies have SO MANY HOLES in them. Hell, flip flopper may be too kind for McCain.

Strategists say Michelle

Strategists say Michelle Obama likely target in campaign

See, this is what we are up against! Since when in the history of our country has a wife been a campaign issue?

And why isn't Cindy McCain a campaign issue?

Politics is dirty business and it gets dirtier and dirtier each and every time we go about this election process.

I'm with everyone else here that thinks we need a valid 3rd choice (besides Libertarians, GReens, etc) but that is not reality today.

I'll bet you that I can dig up a lot more dirt on Cindy McCain than they can on Michelle Obama.

For instance, Cindy McCain was the other woman. So what does it say about a man who cheats on his wife? That's John McCain, an adulterer!

All is fair in love and war. This is both. Love for our country and war against those that want us to bend over and take their garbage and like it....like Bush/McCain!

RichardKanePA, McCain’s

RichardKanePA,

McCain’s dream that America the great and assertive will be back under his watch, is a Meth. high. Rome collapsed with much starvation and chaos, while Britain is declining slowly. McCain could lead to a chaotic collapse, instead of a more gentle decline.

All the main stream politicians shuffle on the issues trying to get as broad a consistency as possible. McCain’s reputation for betraying his base is long standing. Obama has no such reputation. So some of his supporters can get easily offended.

When people condemn McCain for being recently an anti choice nut, it helps with people who oppose abortion. So as people condemn McCain from different directions it makes him look moderate.

A lot of people don’t like immigration, and a lot of people support it. I may have found a hole for both sides to get mad at. By pointing out that undocumented immigrants who enlist have far less problems getting legal. And with new wars, and now already allowing people to join with minor criminal records, jailed immigrants for such things as not having papers or a forged drivers license, can soon get out of detention by joining up, even non-immigrants serving time for shoplifting or manslaughter for driving while drunk could during a McCain Presidency get out of prison by enlisting. Perhaps in the future families will be paid to come to the US as long as all the able bodied members of the household serve as long as they are able.

The most disgusting thing is to see Bush apologize for at times sounding angry, McCain and Reagan never in public make that mistake. What would be really wonderful would be for someone to get some private video of McCain being angry.

Maybe making McCain’s wife an issue would help us all not to starve by McCain becoming President. But I nevertheless don’t like the idea.

If I could get involved in getting video or phone conversations of an angry McCain I’d like to do so. Or encourage others to do so. I wonder if someone could do simulated video or audio of past angry encounters other people had with McCain. If I could do it, I’d try to make it as close to what he likely growled or shouted as I could, asking for suggestions for making it a more accurate portrayal of what actually went on.

I’m in a slight hurry now but I remember back and forth comments on other blogs concerning his private anger and later public apologies.

By the way Pollchecker, is there anyway of knowing is a comment is answered several days later without scanning back all the time?

Pollchecker your above suggestion really hurts, i.e. [Maybe you should just spend time passing links around to those friends of yours who like McCain]

I do!

If people are going to send me these stupid hoaxes, then I get to send them information about McCain! Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Next time don't take it personal. It's not meant that way (very big grin!)
