Dennis the Menace: Impeach Bush

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (Reuters)

Dennis the Menace is at it again. The mouth that roared in Congress is trying, once again, to impeach President George W. Bush.

Although Bush certainly deserves impeachment for all his high crimes against the Constitution, it will take someone with more clout and credibility than Kuchinich to make that happen. The Ohio Congressman that couldn't is a Capitol Hill joke and a laughing stock to other members on the Hill.

Kucinich, who has also launched two impossible campaigns for President and failed miserably both times, is the Congressional equivalent of a flea climbing up an elephant's leg with rape on his mind.

Reports Reuters:

Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich defied his party leadership on Monday by calling for the impeachment of U.S. President George W. Bush for launching the Iraq war -- but his move was not expected to go anywhere.

The Ohio representative outlined his intention to propose more than two dozen charges against Bush on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kucinich, a former presidential candidate, accused Bush executing a "calculated and wide-ranging strategy" to deceive citizens and Congress into believing that Iraq posed an imminent threat to the United States.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly said she opposes trying to remove the Republican president who leaves office next January because such an attempt would be divisive and most likely unsuccessful.

Kucinich, an outspoken Iraq war critic who has consistently voted against funding the war and led anti-war efforts in Congress, offered a resolution to impeach Vice president Dick Cheney in April 2007. That also failed to move forward.

Many Democrats and civil liberties groups have accused the Bush administration of providing misleading information before the 2003 Iraq invasion as well as violating the rights of U.S. citizens with its warrantless surveillance program. The White House denies the charges.

Freedom and Justice for

Freedom and Justice for All!

I look around me an see this country headed for disaster on half a dozen fronts. And I wish somebody would stand up and do what's right, what's rational. And Dennis does. But most people ignore him. And most of those who don't ignore him laugh at him. I guess this country deserves exactly what it gets.

This piece asserts that

This piece asserts that Kucinich is "a Capitol Hill joke and a laughing stock to other members on the Hill".

First off, who wrote this piece of shit?

Second, if they wouldn't mind, could they please enumerate exactly who is laughing at Dennis Kucinich from Capitol Hill and provide an example, just one, for each laughing legislator?

Look, I know we're all Fair and Balanced, but really...

Mr. Kucinich speaks volumns

Mr. Kucinich speaks volumns on this faux president, impeachment is to good for this criminal regime.
I watched Mr. Kucinich on C-Span on Monday night speak to a empty floor of the congress.
This is a honest man who at least puts impeachment on the table where it belongs.
Bush has broken more treaties then he can even account for, along with constitutional violations,
and his boy Gonzalas when acting as Attorney General gave out some very poor advice to the gang of theives who run the country.
The not so funny part of this is people in this country could care less about impeachment of Bush and Cheney. They figure there bank accounts are solid and they are living good, and to hell with the rest of the country and the world be damned........
The only problem is these people will be killed along with the rest of us when there is a war with Red China.
The Chinese are massing troops at our Mexican border as we read and write.
If they don't get there super highway from Mexico to Canada and the super union of the three countries along with the Amero which will replace the dollar, they will come in the back door through Mexico and attack the old fashion way.
God Bless America, and may the rich ignorant wake up to the coming Dictatorship of GW Buish.....................

Chinese amassing troops at

Chinese amassing troops at the Mexican border?
Care to elaborate anthny? I've never heard of this.

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly said she opposes trying to remove the Republican president who leaves office next January because such an attempt would be divisive and most likely unsuccessful."

Divisive. Yes. Let us all remain united behind the most corrupt U.S. government in history. Let us stand united behind war criminals Cheney and Bush. By all means let us not be DIVISIVE.

I second that WWWexleer,

I second that WWWexleer, "Who wrote this piece of shit?" A bush shrill? Why belittle one of the few congressman who performs his/her constitutional duties??? Why would CHB print a story putting a negative spin on a congressman protecting their country? I'm disappointed. The man is only ridiculed by stupid people who are uncomfortable with their own shallowness and cowardess so must belittle those with true integrity.

Kucinich failed in his bid for the presidency because people are STUPID and allow the press to guide their "thinking". Kucinich should be our president; he is the only one that has proven he will do what it takes to repair this country. He is one of the few in Congress who actually perform their constitutional duties, whether certain stupid people ridicule him or not. The man has balls, something we need more of in Congress.

In the meantime (while people continue to be stupid) I will vote for middle-of-the-road Obama (as long as warmonger hillary doesn't get chosen as VP, which I doubt), as he is MUCH better than the option. However, he is apparently pretty middle-of-the-road and doesn't give me hope like Kucinich does. I'm convinced that, until this country actually does some real suffering, the best they will muster is somebody middle-of-the-road.

I caught the last seven of Kucinich's list of 35 distinct violations of law for impeaching bushbag; it is simply amazing how blatant his disregard for his oath of office has been! I hope to catch a video or read the rest; what I did watch was captivating and disturbing. Kucinich has done one hell of a job compiling and outlining the evidence. Our country should be ashamed of itself for letting itself be abused and betrayed as they have! What a bunch of spineless cowardly fools we are!

GOD BLESS DENNIS KUCINICH!!!

Pablo... This is the kind of

Pablo...

This is the kind of article that I would expect from someone who mistakes height, good looks, charisma, and press coverage for ability to govern and tell the truth.

Same kind of person that would vote for Bush, in other words, because to them politics is more like Entertainment Tonight than CSpan.

Pffft.

To impeach Bush and Cheney

To impeach Bush and Cheney is the right action. But it will require a spine to be located within our congress. That is the missing link in our government. But come November, the voters are the source of change.

Do we want the safety of what we know, or are we able to to take a chance on change? McCain is speaking at this moment on cutting taxes and the audience is booing him. I understand the economic advangage of keeping the taxes low on the American people and many claim that Obama will raise these same taxes. Okay so we will have higher interest rates and more unemployment as we had under Carter. But the voters made the decision to unseat Carter and we got what we wanted in Reagan. He was not the limited government that many of us wanted but he did bring the interest rates down so that many more Americans could buy their homes and cars.

Nothing is set in cement in Washington D.C. unless we give up our freedoms and then sit back and watch them go.

The first order of business is to get rid of the parasites in the government. I mean all of them! A total clean up of the corruption and graft that the conservatives brought in under Bush 43. Whether you believe as I do that this was due to the increase of Christians who voted for faith based grants snd were bought outright by this promise. These people came with a bag of prohibitions that would cut into the rights of half the American people. Time to rid those parasites and return to the Separation of Church and State!!!

This means only one action and that is to unseat the House, Senate and work for Senator Obama to prove to all Americans that character does not always come in a white package.

It will be the toughest fight we will ever have to win. Obama has been bitten by two Preachers and he may change his attitude about trying to sell Christian-only agenda in America. He may also discover that some of his promises could do more harm than good. He will not avoid this as Bush has done and will be honest with both sides of aisle and work on the best choices for all. The fact that he is green, is an advantage.....

I realize he is more socialistic than any conservative but I would bet the store he has more basic character than all of them put together. We handle the mistakes as long as they are recognized by our Commander in Chief.

Obama will gather the congress around and discuss the mistakes they made under Bush when they handed him full authority to change the way the government works. They took the lies and corruption and ignored them all. McCain is one of them and Barack is a change, that unless we make in November our nation will fall just like we did in 1929.

America is in tremendous trouble. We are reaching the point of no return unless we get the hell out of the middle east and locate alternative energy. Once we are out of Iraq and Afghanistan, we will have no need for the government to wire tap our citizens.

If America was truly being threatened by terrorists, why the hell are our borders still open? In our own homes, we do not bar the windows and use protection from these home security people and then leave the backdoor open.

Can we stand up to the horrors of the Bush Administration? Apparently, not without a fight!

There is a petition online

There is a petition online that goes out to all Congressmen and Senators requesting that impeachment be put back on the table. Maybe it's time we all got on something like that. I signed it.

Would you like to share it,

Would you like to share it, JerZGirl???

There are certain

There are certain mathmatical principles that one cannot change no matter how much you would like to change them.

1 + 1 = 2

You cannot change that no matter how much disinformation you put out there otherwise.

It takes a certain number of votes to impeach the President and/or VP.

The Congressional Republicans IN BOTH HOUSE AND CONGRESS will not support impeachment just like the Dems stood with Clinton.

The only difference is that the Dems understand that the MAJORITY of the country wants to move onto more important issues unlike the Genuises of Propaganda(GOP) who went against the public and the numbers and stood on some mythical but proven hypocritcal moral issue.

If there was any indication of movement in the numbers, believe me they would move swifly, but unfortunately, we have been stuck with certain inmoveable and unchangeable numbers coming from the minority, steal & spend Republican party.

The only thing we can do is make it clear that we will aggressively move to replace anyone who does not support impeachment as if they don't support impeachment they more than likely will vote to continue Buhs's failed policies long after he has left office. And unfortunately they will stand in the way of justice while at the same time they call for justice for others...the ULTIMATE ACT of hypocrisy!

If they can't come together and ignore GW, they certainly won't come together to impeach GW. The best they can do is bring AS MANY ISSUES AS THEY CAN TO THE TABLE FOR A VOTE! This way we have everyone's stand on the issue.....even those FLIP FLOPPERS LIKE JOHN MCCAIN....who refused to vote so he would not have to vote against benefits for Iraqi war vets.

And McCAin calls himself a hero and a leader. He is a coward and a hypocrite. He says one thing but doesn't have the backbone to back it up. He will be seen by the world as just another George who the American people are stupid enough or violent enough to support even while our country is rotting from within.

Maybe we aren't stupid. Maybe we're just insame to keeping repeating the same actions again and again, expecting the result to somehow be different. If Kucinich is leading the way to this madness, then maybe he is a little bit off....either that or some visionary genuis that people just don't get. Somehow, the latter just doesn't fit with what I know of Kucinich.

The "leadership" of the

The "leadership" of the Democrats, despite the 2006 call for a change, decided that the most important change was the feeding order of the hogs at the trough. They have continued to blank-check the administration's unnecessary and debilitating war in Iraq. The "leader" of the House, Pelosi, promptly signaled the other side that it would be business as usual when she declared that impeachment was off of the table.

The Democrats will likely have to impeach their own leadership to get anything done other than accommodation of the GOP in the two parties' mutual sodomizing of what is left of the republic.

Most sincerely,

T. J. Flapsaddle

Unfortunately, as long as

Unfortunately, as long as the loyal cheerleaders and enablers keep sending them back every two years, you're stuck with them. However, sooner or later the circus grows tired of a clown act and sends it packing. And Pollchecker? Pace, the same applies to the GOP!

I admire the way that Tom Clancy came up with a clean slate for Jack Ryan in Debt of Honor.

Where's Captain Sato when

Where's Captain Sato when you really need him...

I repeat, It is INSANE to

I repeat, It is INSANE to repeat an action expecting different result.

If I was a Dem, why would I waste taxpayer money, congress's time and good use of the media to bash the failed policies of Bush/McCain? For What? They do not have the votes to impeach!

Are you saying they should repeat the actions of the Republicans? Is that more of your eye for an eye justice?

Perhaps this is the true differences between the two parties...the Republicans want to alter the laws of physics and the Dems want to get on with the job of rebuilding it.

YOu can criticize the Dems all you want, but it cannot and will not divert the attention from the fact that GOP had full control of Congress and ABUSED THEIR POWERS to the tune of TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS and are activelyl blocking attempts to collect the facts to bring them to justice.

You should hope, my colleague, that the Dems do get full control of Congress and then they can prosecute George & Dick and their cronies with WAR CRIMES!

I do not disagree; they do

I do not disagree; they do not have the numbers to impeach. But at least they could have made a gesture by not taking it off of the table. But I believe that everyone understands that the two parties are not distinct; they are two stinkhorn mushrooms risen from a common mycelium nourishing itself from a single pile of dung.

I think that the Democrats should actually do something that marks them as a party distinct in principle and action rather than merely another self-serving gaggle of trough-feeders bearing a different label - a distinction without a difference. Choosing between the two branches of the bull in the china shop is now merely an example of the fallacy of the false alternative.

I have no intention of trying to divert attention from the GOP. Both parties are chancre-raddled whores beyond either physical or moral redemption. All I wish to point out is that the Democrats in power really look no less perverse than the Republicans in power.

Should the Democrats gain sufficient control of both houses and the executive as well, there may well be show-trials - at least highly-trumpeted investigations - but there will be no war-crimes trials for the same reason that there is now no impeachment - and they might have to bring Bill Clinton to the dock for his war-crimes in the Balkans.

But it will certainly be a popcorn event, whatever happens.

Most sincerely,

T. J. Flapsaddle

Since some people have

Since some people have trouble remembering that I'm on leave of absence from this place but still decided to send emails demanding that I "do something" about this "unfair attack on Congressman Kucinich," let me say that one of the reaons I took the leave of absence was to get away from the flood of indignation that seems to take over when someone dares criticize one of the Kool-Aid parade like Dennis Kucinich.

I didn't write the lead-in to this story but you can rest assured that if I had it would have been twice as critical of Dennis and his tilting at windmills.

Dennis is a joke to both Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill. I don't know what it is about Ohio that keeps sending flakes like Kucinich and Jim Trafficant to Congress but it must be all the toxic waste in the water of those rust belt towns. The reason his Presidential campaigns don't go anywhere is because he's a fruitcake like so many of the other lost-cause bottom feeder candidates.

Don't expect praise for Kucinich here. You won't get it. We don't drink Kool-Aid.

Seems like you ARE drinking

Seems like you ARE drinking the Kool-Aid if you dismiss impeachment out of hand. Failing to impeach Bush and Cheney when it is a KNOWN FACT that they are criminals makes a fucking joke out of the Constitution and the ass clowns who took an oath to defend and uphold it.

And I am still waiting for you "Dennis is a joke" people to let the rest of us in on the joke. And who is telling the joke. And when they told it.... a specific example would be great.

TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES

Anyone, in Congress or at

Anyone, in Congress or at CHB, who "laugh" at Representative Dennis Kucinich, merely show how out of touch they are with the sentiments of the American people.

What sentiments of the

What sentiments of the American people? How many primaries has Kucinich won? How many delegates? The American people see him as a joke. It's only the fruitloops in Ohio that keep sending this cretin back to Congress to embarrass himself and the nation.

I'd love to see Bush impeached but as long as the ones leading the charge are nutcases like Kucinich nothing will ever happen.

Doug, So the best you can do

Doug,
So the best you can do is resort to ad-hominem attacks against Dennis Kucinich (the messenger)? Why don't you respond to the 35 Articles of Impeachment (the message) that were submitted into the Congressional record? There's plenty of meat to chew on there that's relevent. Is it because that would take time and effort to refute them, and it's easier to just smear Kucinich because he's a "fruitcake"? You say you'd like to see Bush impeached, so why not discuss the merits of the Articles? Frankly, I don't care who the messenger is if the message is valid and is backed up with evidence.

This is a better link.

This is a better link. These are the people that are getting the job done.

Doug's response, just like

Doug's response, just like the above-authors, criticizes and ridicules, but has no teeth. What's so bad about Dennis? The fact he points out the truth?

If he is, or has done something to make him deserving of this disrespect (besides being one of the few congressman to do his duty), then somebody educate me!

I'll be waiting...

Here are some thoughts from

Here are some thoughts from those who know Kucinich best:

"Dennis Kucinich has spent his life fighting for the little guy -- and that little guy is Dennis." -- David Martin, the Cleveland Scene

"There's no one in America who believes in Dennis Kucinich more than Dennis Kucinich. We used to say back here in Ohio, you've got to drive a stake through the guy's heart to get him out of it." -- Tim Hagan, former Cuyahoga County Democratic President

Notes The Cleveland Plain Dealer:

Dennis' close friend Shirley Maclaine has an interesting story about him in her book, "Sage-ing While Age-ing." Shirley says he had a close encounter with a UFO at her house in Washington state that he found very moving.

"The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him. It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."

Critics are quick to charge that Kucinich "led Cleveland into bankruptcy" as a young (31) mayor, called "Dennis the Menace" by the press, and his administration was certainly messy. One book recently named him as the 7th worst mayor of American history, not for any reasons of corruption or scandal, but due to his "abrasive, intemperate, and chaotic administration." He survived a recall vote after only ten months in office by 231 votes (out of 120,000) and was voted out after one term by Republican George Voinovich, even through Democrats outnumbered Republicans 8 to 1. When he threw out the first pitch at a Cleveland Indians game, he wore a bullet-proof vest and had sharpshooters positioned on the stadium roof.

And quotes from Kucinich more than explain his loony nature:

"The energy of the stars becomes us. We become the energy of the stars. Stardust and spirit unite and we begin: one with the universe, whole and holy. From one source, endless creative energy, bursting forth, kinetic, elemental; we, the earth, air, water and fire-source of nearly fifteen billion years of cosmic spiraling." -- Kucinich, in the "Journal of Concious Evolution"

"As a bachelor, I get a chance to fantasize about my first lady. And you know maybe Fox will want to sponsor it as a national contest or something. But in any event I would want definitely want someone who would not just be there by my side, but be a working partner because I think we're in a day in age when partnerships are imperative to making anything happening in the world. And I certainly want a dynamic, out-spoken woman who was fearless in her desire for peace in the world and for universal single-payer health care and a full employment economy. If you are out there call me." -- Kucinich, Nov. 5, 2003

"After I lost the [mayoral] election in Cleveland in 1979, I moved to California for a while. I actually remember walking in the area around L.A. known as MacArthur Park, and I was thinking of that song and thinking of the lyrics where they talk about 'Someone left the cake out in the rain. It took so long to make it.' And it goes on, raising the question of whether I'll ever have that recipe again." -- Kucinich

"My journey has spanned political, social, economic and even spiritual gulfs. And because of that journey, I really have a sense of the potential for oneness which exists in this nation and in the world community. I see how it all fits together . . ." -- Kucinich, in Beverly Hills

And some of you here believe this guy is a leader? He is, and always has been, a national joke.

Maybe if you stay on

Maybe if you stay on vacation a bit longer, the magic of our existence in the universe will return to your life (or occur to you, in case you missed that part of your childhood).

You quoted Kucinich....

That's really hilarious. Ha ha. A joke. I'm amused.

I heard Neil deGrasse Tyson say essentially the exact same thing on "The Universe" last night. But he ended with "I think that's pretty cool." When you think it's cool, come back from vacation.
