It with deepest sadness that I have to tell of the death of SEAL. His wife Dinah wrote to me this morning that SEAL died in his sleep on May 31st of the terrible cancer that was fought off until it went into his brain and it shut down. He was not in pain and I told his wife, I would invite here to share your comments with her. She asked me to thank you all for your concerns with his last months here. His writings will be with us forever and I will miss him as a friend I never met.

I knew SEAL as someone who's
Submitted by RealityBytes on June 7, 2008 - 1:52pm.I knew SEAL as someone who's posts I always respected; although I agreed with him most of the time, I would learn something whether I agreed or not, and that is the best I can say of any writing. If you were to collect a 'best of' SEAL's posts, they would include every one.

Submitted by Dogma on June 7, 2008 - 5:38pm.I am very saddened by this news and I've sure missed his posts recently. Of course I never met him, but I so looked forward to and enjoyed his posts and learned much from them. He certainly fought a brave fight and I was extra worried about him after reading his last few posts. Dinah, my deepest sympathies to you and your family. Thank you, Sandra, for informing us.....an American Hero indeed.

I'm going to email this
Submitted by Sandra Price on June 8, 2008 - 12:14pm.I'm going to email this information to Mrs. SEAL next week to show her how much we appreciated her husband's concerned over our political mess. He brought many good fixes for us to work on and as far as CHB is concerned this is a great legacy for any American to leave on the internet.
I will leave this us until Doug has a chance to make a statement.

SEAL has transcended this
Submitted by Carl Nemo on June 9, 2008 - 1:12am.SEAL has transcended this earthly plane, but I know his spirit lives within all of us who share his thoughts concerning our never-ending fight against the forces of tyranny stalking this great nation.
Thanks SEAL for your service to the nation and for sharing your respected thoughts with the members of this forum.

I really enjoyed talking
Submitted by Klaus Hergeschimmer on July 1, 2008 - 1:58pm.I really enjoyed talking about history with Seal and making correlations between various historical events and the implications of them, and as many posters have stated, Seal was a teacher, and posted on CHB even if he wasn't feeling very well. Thank You Seal, you made a difference.

Submitted by JudyB on July 2, 2008 - 1:37am.I will remember Seal as an astute intellect. Seal' posts were always a learning experience for me. He was well read, well versed, and well written. I remember when it was becoming almost impossible for him to post on CHB, had not let us in on this fact, no one would have been able to tell by his last post...as he remained intelligent, articulate and brave to the end. May he rest in peace, and may his wife and family find comfort in the knowledge that Seal was admired and respected by folks who never had the pleasure of meeting him, yet felt we knew him.
