NUMBER TWO PRIORITY: Armed Services Restoration We must return to the promise of the G.I. Bill and bring it up to date to protect every member of the Armed Forces including the health problems brought on by any injuries incurred, physical or mental. . For every war, our government should explain to all Americans why war can must protect our homeland security. We have a good Administration for us to look at and realize their manipulations should never be repeated. We were hoodwinked for the protection of Oil and Israel. We have watched Israel’s back since 1948 and it is time we watch our own back and release Israel to its own forces. They are very qualified to act on their own behalf. We, on the other hand, are not. To concentrate on American security it should be discussed that we bring home our soldiers from all other nations and treat them like the heroes they are. As I wrote in 1998, that our government has become corrupt, was an understatement. Americans are resilient and with a new trusting government that governs by the Constitution we could regain our trust in the congress and even the White House. Here are the list that must be made in 2008. 1. Every promise made during the recruitment to be kept by the powers in Washington D.C. Give us safe borders, build our defenses back and give American Armed Forces the ability to wear an American uniform with pride.

Submitted by pollchecker on June 4, 2008 - 9:36am.Senator Webb's Bill is a great Bill and should be easily passed.
The problem is the same old Stuff we are ALL SO TIRED OF!
The Failed Policies of Bush/McCain.
Sandra -- McCain refuses to back the bill. His reasons are short and really lame.
Webb's bill will get vetoed by GW but if Webb is smart he will wait until after the election when it might be possible to override.
If not they just reintroduce, first thing in January. But the most important part of Webb's Bill is that we document who votes and how they vote.
I'm guessing that the so-called Great Leader McCain won't even show up to vote or if he does he will vote against it.
It's time for a leader that respects people, ALL PEOPLE, whether in uniform or not. But especially a leader that doesn't say one thing and turn around and do as they please. Our country is weary of the failed policies of Bush/McCain and so is our military!
BTW -- Here's a tidbit for you.
Pentagon weapons procurement broken, auditor warns
This system has been broken a VERY LONG time. By that I mean DECADES!
It is NOW, Today, at its WORST in Iraq!
You know Sandra, the GOP ALWAYS blames the Dems for depleting the Military, but I've noticed at least in my lifetime, it is usually the Genuises of Propaganda (GOP) that sucks the life out of every agency it touches.
Instead of the Midas touch, Today's GOP seems to have the leech touch....just a bunch of blood suckers!

Submitted by the Don on June 5, 2008 - 11:47am.As a soldier i maintained nuclear warheads. I was never in combat but in thinking about it after all these years i have a mild case of post traumatic stress syndrome. But that only makes me crazy.
What makes me insane is to think that any person of experience and intelligence could think that either one of these guys have the answer, an answer, any answer.
McCain is an old man, you can see him doddering on the stage. But he is the Manchurian Candidate and nobody talks about this. Have we lost our memory, the guy who was captured by the North Koreans and brainwashed and returns!
Great movie and now we see him running for POTUS. Different war but, WTF, it takes awhile for fiction to become reality.
Its very hard not to become a tool of another's will if that will is manifested all around you. Like we in Amerika, at the will of bosses, media, educators, politicians who surround us while they promote to policies of those who are literally ROBBING US BLIND. The international bankers, the multinational corporations and our government.
McCain & Obama are members of the Council of Foreign Affairs. The CFR,imho, is not working for my interest. My interest and belief is that i can do whatever i like as long as i hurt no one and do my best to help heal a damaged planet and polity.
So i cannot vote for these candidates. I will vote for local issues and local and state cadidates and will write in Ron Paul if i am able.
Been tilting at windmills so long i can't tell redwoods from blades of grass.

Submitted by bryan mcclellan on June 5, 2008 - 3:03pm.My first concern is how the readjustment issue is addressed.I didn't know I was suffering from innocence lost until years later when my college philosophy Prof sat me down and clarified the meaning of WAR, and a soldiers psychological debt for his deeds in said war. He helped me but guilt and the feeling of impending doom still haunt my dreams and my everyday life.
To this day something in the road could be a mine or setup for an ambush, and all who know me are wary when approaching me out of line of my sight.
This war like the one I was in has no front lines. No discernible demarcation point, no area of safety where a young soldier may lay his head to rest.
It is a horrible condition when one has the feeling of being assailed from all sides 24/7 with even the inner sanctum of your own mind closed to you.
Ribbons, medals, and an atta boy are hollow compensation when confronted with meager if any follow up and support from the very government that one has defended.
These kids have fought a dirty needless war and now they are faced with a new struggle at home by being categorized and pigeonholed, fighting a dirty, cold, and callous government that seeks any excuse to deny them what this country promised to deliver for their service.
We owe them much, much more.
