House Passes Farm Bill by a Veto-Proof Margin Now, can they make it happen in the Senate? Probably not if Senator John McCain has his way! Hope the farmers will remember who stopped their farm bill from happening! Remember to REELECT the FAILED POLICIES of Bush/MCCAIN in 2008! GIVING AWAY all our money in Iraq at a rate of $4566 PER SECOND!

Another constituency dependent on the government. Makes me very sad for the future.

Submitted by pollchecker on May 15, 2008 - 1:34pm.there was a time when I might have agreed but this bill is a fix it bill that closes the loophole for agri-corps to get gov't assistance when it was meant for small farmers and ranchers, etc. In other words, this bill fixes the abuse in the system.
Again, I say, IT'S ABOUT TIME! NO MORE LARGE CORPORATE WELFARE ASSISTANCE!
BTW, have you ever lived in a country whose govt had no agricultural support? I did. And I paid $6 A GALLON for milk at WALMART AND COSTCO. It was the first time in my recent life that I had a new appreciation for some of the good stuff our govt does.
If only there was a way to keep the cronyism out of govt!
People should not be able to profit from supporting a winning candidate. If you ask me that's where the real corruptibility lies.
