By Maggie Van Ostrand Between the Clinton act itself starring the ex-first family, McAuliffe, Wolfson, and a few babbling blondes, you'd think Hillary still had a shot at the presidency. After John Edwards' endorsement of Barack Obama, it seems the only reality that could save the Clintons now, aside from more snake oil, hot air and unworkable ideas, would be an endorsement by Al Gore. Come to think of it, it's doubtful even Al Gore could save her. Hillary Clinton will have a place in history, but it's not the one she's angling for. More likely it will be a SciFi movie, The Thing That Wouldn't Leave. Perhaps they'll give up and start grooming Chelsea, the only woman in the world worse off in life than Laura Bush. I almost feel sorry for the delusional Hillary Clinton, and then I remember all the people she has duped. Hillary as president … sure she'll get the troops out of Iraq, except she can't even get herself out of this race. The trouble with Hillary's gross ambition is that she can't pull the wool over anybody's eyes but those of her own people. It's rewarding to see the Dems carrying on without her. RichardKanePA I think it is

I think it is a mistake to call Hillary delusional
There are a lot of powerful lobbies out there who push her forward. Haliburton and oil magnets want Hillary the nominee even if in the general election they prefer McCain.
A President has a lot of tough choices to make, both Hillary and Obama claim choice was one of the things they would be considering in picking a Supreme Court nominee, However if Obama’s first choice was turned down might he not pick someone like Ron Paul? I think so.
The problem is for Hillary that if she is the nominee, it means a lot more Republicans will win in the Senate and the House, canceling out her reputation for fighting hard for causes she believes in.
The same is true with the foreign policy lobbies. If Hillary gets bogged down in a war in Iran, there will be a huge amount of antisemitism in this country which counteracts the fact that she wants to do more for Israel than Obama does.
It’s obvious that both McCain and Obama prefers that one doesn’t own a gun. But Obama clearly has other ideas about discouraging gun ownership than putting people in jail. The fact that Hillary is now so hysterically pro-gun, when she never indicated such in the past, means that people and lobbyists wonder if she is lying about her positions on a number of issues.
There is nothing delusional or, I think, particularly mean spirited about Hillary, let’s join John Edwards in refraining from personal attacks.
See my blog entry, I am surprised that as of May 15 no one responded to it.
