More news from the front lines. It appears Republicans are finally getting around to hating McCain as much as the Democrats do.

I admit ignorance on this
Submitted by Ted Remington on April 27, 2008 - 10:55am.I admit ignorance on this one. What are McCain and Paul supporters doing here? And why? This is for a Republican state convention, according to the sort of cryptic article; one assumes that the state convention would concentrate on offices of state or local interest, not national. Washington State's votes at the national convention are safely in McCain's pocket, aren't they?
Of what use or purpose is this supposed split between McCain and Paul supporters? I am truly at a loss.
Also, I don't see this as hatred for McCain.

Sorry I didn't have the
Submitted by griff on April 28, 2008 - 2:21pm.Sorry I didn't have the chance to respond until now. In short, we are attempting to toss the neocons from the party and reestablish the Republican party as one of limited government, personal freedom and humble foreign policy.
One reason I like to post such articles here is because it goes uncovered in the mainstream, and maybe people outside the mainstream would like to hear what others are doing to advance those principles, or more accurately, reintroduce these principles into a tightly managed spectrum of debate.
The reason why the conventions are important is that the state convention is responsible for drafting the state's party platform, likewise the national convention is responsible for drafting the national platform. The state convention thereby elects delegates to the national convention. The more delegates you have, the more voice you have in the platform.
